I finally got around to watching LET THE RIGHT ONE IN, a Swedish vampire flick.
Much better than it sounds. The beginning killed me: silent except for the sound of snow falling outside a window. Then a little boy saying, "Squeal like a pig" while he brandishes a knife.
Two very lonely little lost souls find each other: the boy horribly bullied at school and a girl with a secret.
Amazing. Gruesome at times and darkly humorous, the movie is still heartwarming. The young actors look like they belong in paintings.
I was a leetle disappointed that the writer didn't put any definitive stamp on a Swedish vampire and that the girl's guardian was hardcore stupid at times, but those are trivial nits to pick.
I really enjoyed this.
