Tattoo Queen, in a neverending effort to keep me up to date in music, bought me a CD by Metric.
I'm wearing that sucker out and having a wonderful time carseat dancing to the songs.
It reminds me of 80s music without the side effect of making me want to throw up. I also love the lead singer who reminds me of Amanda Plummer.
Tangent: Amanda Plummer is beautiful. The first time she appears in THE FISHER KING backlit and surrounded by nuns, looking for all the world like Guinevere, made me almost forgive Terry Gilliam for not knowing when the fuck to end his movies. On another sidenote, a friend and I used to classify actors according to their attractiveness. Helena Bonham Carter had a bruised beauty. Emma Thompson a hearty beauty. And Amanda Plummer an anachronistic beauty. Really, she belongs on a tapestry.
But Metric has been brightening my early morning and late afternoon rides.
And I have to love any group who puts the word "muse" in a song:
